Coralife LED BioCube 32 Media Basket

The Coralife LED Biocube 32 Media Basket continues the long history of the BioCube line of Media Basket's and improves on everything inTank has learned.  This Basket is unique as it is four sided, with one wall or door being removable for easy and fast media changes. It forces water through media for increased filtration. Easy top access to change and maintain filter floss. Works in combination with the Coralife LED Biocube 32 Fuge Basket. Fits along side the Tunze 9001, see the walkthrough video on the bottom of this page for more details.  New higher flow leg design, notches cut on legs improve flow exiting the basket.  Features a removable shelf so you can run macro algae along side a skimmer while still having filter floss on top.  The shelf is also adjustable so you can run floss, one bag of media and macro algae along side a skimmer.  Or in freshwater run bioballs in the basket.  The Media Basket is not dependent on anything next to it so it can be run on it's own.  Includes two water direction pieces and one removable shelf.

FAQ:

Q: Should I keep the sponge in?

A: YES and No.  If you are not running any macro algae then no, take it out.  Sponges can lead to nitrates in a saltwater reef setup.  If you are using macro algae then keep the sponge before the return pump to protect it from any loose macro algae.  Keep it clean to avoid the risk of nitrates.  Keep a spare, swap them out during water changes so you are replacing with a sponge that is clean, and dried out killing all harmful detritus.

Q: Where should my water level be in chamber two?

A: At the first, top shelf of the Media Basket.  Add new water to chamber two or three while the filtration pump is on to bring the water level up.
