    • So do I go with the single light or the double? inTank recommends the double lights for a larger fuge area or for the customer that wants to blast macro algae with light from all directions. In a smaller tank such as a 14 gallon or under the single like is effective. With good water flow the addition of heat is not a problem macro algae will even grow directly against the bulb.

    Macro algae photo-period: You can run your underwater lights for 24 hours per day or a reverse light cycle period. If you choose the shorter period of time have the underwater lights ON when the display lights of your aquarium are OFF.
